This is the story of one participant's experience in an Earthwatch expedition. I came across Earthwatch's web site almost by accident and remembered long-suppressed yearnings to go on an expedition. The time seemed right so I explored further. The title refers to the effect the trip had on my life - an awareness of the rest of the world that this American had not really appreciated before.
